A message from Anita Whitehead
As part of KPMG’s commitment to advancing equity in our workplace and society, the KPMG U.S. Foundation, Inc. is launching a new grant and matching gift program to promote access and equity in higher education. The Reaching New Heights Program will promote pipeline diversity at colleges and universities and foster collaboration between educators and KPMG leaders within our communities. This program is a testament to KPMG’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and our vision to have a more diverse workforce.
In recognition of our 125th anniversary, the KPMG U.S. Foundation will award a total of $125,000 to five eligible recipients ($25,000 per institution) to fund a new or existing diversity program within a school of business, technology or law. Plus, a 2:1 match (up to $500,000 per institution) will be provided from donations made by KPMG professionals, partners and retired partners. KPMG U.S. leaders and Foundation board members will provide ongoing mentorship and guidance for these diversity initiatives and programs throughout the year-long program.
All eligible U.S. universities and colleges are welcome to apply. If you have any connections with college or university groups, please share our online application with them. The deadline to express interest for grant consideration is June 30, 2022. All candidates must then submit a full proposal by August 15, 2022. Grants will be distributed by October 1, 2022. Please email us-fwreachnewheights@kpmg.com with any questions.
Investment in education and equity is the first step to improving college access and success for all students. This program is only the beginning of a much broader effort to ensure we are doing right by society and keeping diversity, equity and inclusion at the heart of our philanthropy.
