Retail Sales Rise More Than Expected in June

U.S. retail sales rose 7.5% m/m in June, beating market expectations for 5% growth. The strong June data follows a historic 18.2% m/m increase in May’s retail sales data. KPMG Senior Economist Ken Kim offers some insights about the data and  how the continuing rise in COVID-19 cases threatens to impact some of the recent economic gains.
