Audit Partner Lisa Hackard shares her deeply personal story about losing both her brother and her mentor to suicide. Those experiences changed her perspective on mental health awareness and inspired her to become a passionate promoter of prioritizing mental health and well-being.
Lisa is the National Chair for the Abilities in Motion Business Resource Group, (AIM) which supports employees who have a special need or who have family members with one.
She authored a series of articles for the Colorado CPA Journal about mental health in the workplace and courageously shared her story, hoping to help others who may be dealing with mental health challenges.
“It’s important that we focus on mental health and lead by example. As we guide others through the storm, we are all leaders. No matter where we sit in the organization, we interact with people and the way we behave with each other sets the tone for what others see and model.” Hear her story.
