Four KPMG leaders have been named to the Hispanic Information Technology Executive Council (HITEC) 2020 Top 100 list of the most influential and notable Hispanic professionals in the technology industry.
The HITEC Top 100 list is a compilation of the top Hispanic Professionals in the Technology Industry from across the United States and celebrates their leadership and achievements in all sectors of the industry.
Awardees are evaluated on their accomplishments in the ever-changing global landscape of technology and for their mentoring and professional development activities.
Individuals included on the list were selected by the 2019 Awards Committee. Nominations are solicited from HITEC members and the general public.
“We are honored to have four of our leaders recognized on the HITEC Top 100 list,” said Manny Fernandez, KPMG Dallas Office Managing Partner and co-chair of KPMG’s Hispanic Latino Network. “Jorge, Julio, Miriam and Sandy are well recognized as innovative contributors to the advancement of technology-enabled solutions that drive business outcomes. They are tremendous business leaders and role models – each of them have demonstrated proactive leadership in creating opportunities for the next generation of Hispanic leaders.”
The awardees on the HITEC Top 100 list will be recognized during the HITEC Awards Gala Benefiting the HITEC Foundation at HITEC's Fall Leadership Summit on October 24. The gala will be held at the San Francisco Airport Marriott Waterfront, California.

KPMG and HITEC
Both organizations understand the importance of attracting and empowering top talent and building a pipeline of emerging leaders.
In 2018, KPMG announced the Emerging Director Board program in collaboration with HITEC. This program can help HITEC’s C-suite level members deepen their boardroom knowledge and enhance their positioning as candidates for a corporate board.
In 2017, KPMG created a program for HITEC to develop corporate board members. The Board Fit program consists of a series of workshops on board member roles and responsibilities, the impact and expectations of investors on a board, tips on how to increase their visibility as a prospective board member, and the opportunity to engage with existing Hispanic board members to discuss best practices.
KPMG partners also lead workshops on financial reporting and technology innovation as part of HITEC’s Emerging Executive Program, an annual program that develops the next generation of Hispanic IT leaders.
In addition, Miriam Hernandez-Kakol serves on the HITEC Board of Directors.
