Pat Sheridan never imagined that what started out as a hobby would lead to a prime-time appearance on national television.
Sheridan, a KPMG national audit solutions director, took on the challenge of playing every mini golf course in his home state of Connecticut in 2001, when he joined KPMG after graduating from Boston University.
This week Sheridan will participate on Holey Moley, a mini golf competition reality series on ABC. The show features basketball star Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors as the resident golf pro, as contestants take on miniature golf obstacle courses.

Sheridan describes mini golf as a great opportunity to connect with others and have a few laughs. He has been known occasionally to challenge his KPMG colleagues to pick up their putters for a few hours of fun.
“My hobby has turned into life-long passion,” he said. “I’ve played in the United States Professional Mini Golf Association’s U.S. Miniature Golf Open every year since 2014 as well as many other tournaments since 2003. I also recently competed in Sweden in the World Adventure Golf Masters as part of the 12 member Team USA, which brought home two gold medals, a silver and a bronze.”
He invites you to check out his website, The Putting Penguin, one of the world’s largest mini golf course review sites, to find a great mini golf course to play this summer.
“I never dreamed that I would play mini golf on television,” he said of the 10-episode, summer show that debuted in June. Sworn to secrecy, Sheridan couldn’t share the outcome of his appearance on the episode scheduled to air Thursday, July 25, at 8 p.m. ET on your local ABC station or streaming on Hulu.
