KPMG in Northwest Arkansas

Learn where Walmart and KPMG philanthrophic focus areas intersect in the NWA area.

Our commitment

At KPMG LLP, we take our responsibility to each of our stakeholders seriously. As an accounting firm, we have a central responsibility as a steward of the capital markets and this obligation underscores the services we offer, the employees we hire and promote, the clients we engage with, and the way we intersect with and invest in our communities.

Our corporate responsibility commitments are best understood through four integrated pillars that guide our actions—Integrity, Corporate Citizenship, Diversity and Inclusion, and the Environment. Taken together, these pillars create value for our partners, employees, clients, communities, and the capital markets we serve.

Corporate citizenship

Our corporate citizenship initiatives comprise volunteerism, philanthropy, corporate giving through the KPMG Foundation, and strategic relationships with non-profits. While they cover a broad range of issues, our main focus is youth and education and sustaining our communities through workforce readiness.  We view this as a long-term strategic investment that addresses an essential societal need, and fills the talent pipeline with leaders who will be uniquely prepared to embrace the challenges of a global marketplace.

These collaborations allow us to create a strategic “value chain” that supports education from early childhood through the postgraduate level.

Local community

It’s all about the power of community. Walmart’s 2016 Annual Giving report says Walmart aims to address three priority areas of Opportunity, Sustainability, and Community. In the KPMG Foundation’s 2016 Annual Report, the three focus areas for KPMG are K-12 Education, Higher Education, and Community. Leveraging the common initiatives that KPMG and Walmart both have regarding the emphasis on serving their communities, they have aligned with non-profit organizations in Northwest Arkansas to get involved in that same purpose. With this new level of synergy, the KPMG Walmart account team has aligned its community outreach efforts in Northwest Arkansas to places where Walmart’s and KPMG’s philanthropic focus areas intersect. KPMG began combining its efforts with multiple organizations in Northwest Arkansas to make an even bigger impact.
